Staying Safe: Fire Prevention and Response Essentials

Join us for an educational session designed to teach individuals how to prevent residential fires, maintain safety equipment, and create evacuation plans. The presentation will cover cooking safety, smoking, smoke alarms, and emergency procedures, aiming to reduce injury and death.
Key Components:
• Prevention Strategies: Tips on managing fire hazards, such as maintaining heating equipment, safe cooking habits, and handling electrical appliances.
• Smoke Alarm Awareness: Educate on placement, testing, and replacement of smoke alarms (e.g., test monthly; ensure alarms are installed in every sleeping area and on every level of the home)
• Escape Planning: Create and practice a home fire escape plan, including knowing two ways out of every room.
• Risk Awareness: Highlighting top causes of home fires and dangers for vulnerable groups, such as children and older adults.
A light lunch will be served.
